Biviere Lake
The Lake Biviere is located in the municipal district of Cesarò at 1278 metres above the sea level. The lake has got a surface of about 18 hectars and forms the wet area, at high altitude, of the greatest naturalistic value in Sicily, even for its particular vegetable and animal population. The presence of the water in a highland area, covered with beech woods, represents, moreover, a privileged point of reference for the life of the numerous aquatic birds species and for the birds of passage. To the naturalistic interest, the Lake Biviere links undoubted panoramic values, surrounded by an impenetrable population of hidropholic plants, dominated by magnificent beeches and opened to the North towards beautiful landscapes. |
